The college publishes prospects which include all the information of admission process. It also carries the information regarding the facilities available, student’s achievements various activities of the college, Prize list for students, information of various scholarships available. There is a name list of Management members, teaching and non-teaching staff. For keeping transparency in admission process the time schedule of registration, first second third merit selection list are displayed on the notice board.
The college has students of high percentage seeking admission to the various courses offered by the college. Most of the courses are exclusively available in the college. The admission committee monitors, counsels and creates students’ profile with office assistance. Large number of students from backward and economically weaker sections is admitted in the college. The institutional goals and objectives state the development of casteless society and creation of equality among the diverse sections of the society. The college is very much conscious of the inclusion of rural, economically backward and women students.
The college ensures that the students get different scholarships like Government of India Scholarship, Eklavya Scholarship, Maulana Azad Scholarship, Rajiv Gandhi National Research Fellowship, Maulana Azad National Research Fellowship, Various types of Freeships, EBC Facility etc. Facilities like Earn and Learn, Hostels and student aid fund are also made available. There is a provision of faculty sponsored endowment awards and prizes as well as Poojya Chudamani Balasaheb Maharaj Scholarship.
The college has strategies to cater to the needs of diverse students viz. Remedial classes, Add-on courses like translation proficiency, soft skills and personality development, spoken English, department internet facility, NET/ SLET coaching.
The college prepares an academic calendar every year based on the broad framework supplied by the university. All the teaching staff is supplied with DTR (Daily Teaching Report-Diary) in which semester wise teaching plan is prepared well in advanced. Exam committee looks after the schedule of internal examinations.
The college has established IQAC which monitors the overall activities in the college. Result analysis is done at the IQAC meetings. Workshops and seminars on important issues in higher education are arranged under the guidance of IQAC. The IQAC takes review of the infrastructural requirements for different courses.
The Departments of Animation and Fashion take strenuous efforts to prepare students for job market. The MNC and other companies arrange online examinations for recruitment. The Departmental faculty prepares the students by applying such tests. At Graduate and Post Graduate level class seminars, class test and oral examination are regularly conducted.
The library reading room contains adequate number of books and magazines for the ready reference of students. A Language Laboratory with latest language learning software is constructed for the development of language skills. A well equipped and resourceful Research Centre is provided to students to pursue their studies and research.
The college has developed technological facilities like SMS software, CMS software, SOUL 2.0 software, computer labs with 175 Computers and latest softwares, spacious Seminar Hall, Laptops, LCD, OHP and CCTV. During teaching- learning various learner centric methods are used effectively. The quality of teaching- learning is monitored by the defined mechanism.
The college has 100% qualified faculty. The management of Dayanand Education Society has constantly maintained the atmosphere of transparency, democracy, participation, encouragement, freedom and protection of all the legitimate rights. For the upward mobility of the faculty the management has also made the policy to sanction lien.
The faculty has undergone the necessary orientation and refresher courses along with the training in teaching allied areas. The departments of English and Animation had organized six days workshop on “Communication and Computer Awareness.” The college had organized one day workshop on research methodology. Dayanand Education Society had arranged five days training programme for all the English teachers on the campus “Train the Trainer Programme.”
Various faculty members have received awards and recognition for noteworthy academic, social contribution. The college has introduced evaluation of teachers by students through written feedback forms. The teachers have to submit self-appraisal pro-forma every year.
Recently the university has drastically changed evaluation system by introducing semester MCQ pattern for UG at first and second year. Such evaluation pattern helps the students to take up competitive examination confidently at the same time deep level understanding of the course content is developed in the students. In the subjects like Geography, Animation, Fashion, Music, Psychology, Dramatics and Functional English students are also evaluated through practical. At Post Graduate level the university has semester pattern of 80 / 20. 80 marks evaluation happens at the university level and 20 marks evaluation is at the department level. In the class room discourse the teachers asks questions and judge the level of students’ understanding. Evaluation of students also happens through seminars and oral examinations.
In line with the university graduate attributes, the college works in the direction of developing sense of Nationalism, Humanity, Gender Equality, Honesty, Scientific Temper etc. the vision and mission of the college are very much reflective of the same. The college has clearly stated learning out comes which facilitate the college to comply with its mission on the one hand and the National Policy of higher education on the other. The ideals incorporated in the Indian Constitution, Planning commission documents and the objectives of higher education as determined by NAAC also form the base of the college’s stated learning out comes. Nationalism, Humanity, Gender Equality, Honesty, Scientific Temper, sports, cultural, leadership, value education etc. are very much reflective in the vision and mission of the college.
The college monitors students’ performance and progress regularly through the examination results. The advance learners are provided with extra study material and average/slow learners are given counseling individually. Remedial coaching is offered for the slow learners, thereby enabling them to overcome the weakness and realize the strength and potential. The college has consistently maintained track record of meritorious students. To help the students to succeed in competitive examination the college has started Dayanand Competitive Examination Study Center. 105 Students have enrolled in it and 11 Students have qualified. Different COCs definitely help the students to secure good jobs. As for research aptitude the college has 03 recognized research centers (English, Hindi, Marathi) 82 research students are pursuing their Ph. D research at our center and 18 research supervisors are associated with the research center. 73 Research Student of this center have already been awarded degrees. In M.Phi.(Hindi) over 100 students have completed their research and presently 08 research guides are available.
